Gold Run House

The log cabin of the Gold Run House was built in 1890 and is the last of its kind in the historic mining community of Salina. The challenge from the owners was to add to the original structure sensitively enough to locally landmark the building while making the house more family friendly. The creation of a one story glass breezeway connects the log structure with the new addition and makes a convenient entry point and mud room. Reclaimed wood siding, stone to match the local granite and a weathered corrugated metal roof make the addition seem as if it’s been there all along.
